WE Collective Monthly Artist Gathering : Space Between Anniversary
Join us Thursday in support of community through music, as Space Between celebrates our 3 year anniversary with the Will Effertz Collective!

Harmony
Finding balance, peace, understanding, and cooperation within our intrinsic and extrinsic selves. Where do you experience harmony personally or professionaly? Even when we hit a wrong note, we are only a 1/2 step away from being in the right key. Maybe the wrong note, is the right note? It's all up to our interpretation or perception of what is right. Join us in April to explore Harmony, "a pleasing combination of different parts."

Show & Tell
Bring and share an item that you keep on you, bring to gigs, or on tour, that helps you feel grounded, gives you strength, and connects you to home and loved ones. Some may call it superstition, but carrying special personal items can be a powerful source of inspiration and connectedness. What are your essential items and must haves that you carry with you on stage, in your vehicles, or in your gig bags? This is gonna be good!

Good Things
Let's share and celebrate in some good things! Finding the power in positivity. What, when, where, how, and why? It's everywhere, if you just look at it right. Optimism and gratitude, folks. It's infectious!
Collaborate with like minded industry folks! For anyone who makes the music possible: artists, managers, agents, promoters, engineers, crew, venue staff, security, and family.

Resolution
Join us in January as we explore how making simple changes can have major waterfall effects in our everyday lives towards wellness of self and others. We often feel the need to change due to the dissonance that our actions are causing within our personal lives and ambitions. Resolution is coming to the end of one stage, and starting a new. Usually made with positive intentions, but often challenging to put into action and create impact.

Time
November's Space Between topic is "Time." Easy to manage on stage and during performances, right? It's consistent. What about within your personal and professional spaces, outside of the gigs? A bit tougher, eh? Time can easily become pressured and feel out of control. Join us as we share in time management strategies, identify barriers, setting realistic expectations and goals, and prioritizing time for your emotional wellbeing as well.

Health & Wellness for the Road
Join us for October's Space Between, "Health & Wellness for the Road," with RN Carlos Vargas. Carlos will be presenting a workshop on diet, nutrition, and calisthenics that will help keep you healthy, limber, and focused on the road, before or after showtime, and/or when access to typical resources are not accessible. Outside of being a registered nurse on a local mental health team, during his free time, Carlos can be found boxing, break dancing, biking, cooking, and camping. Learn a bit about "The Brain-Gut Connection," and expand your knowledge and tool box of healthy nutrition and exercise options when time opportunities are limited.

Groove is in the Heart
Join us for September's Space Between, "Groove is in the Heart" with Kenneth Garnier. Not only is Kenneth the bass maestro for Casual Confusion, YFM (Your Favorite Music), The Lonesome Losers, and various other Twin Cities bands, he is the Vice Chair on Space Between's board of directors. Kenneth will be presenting on "Mind, Body, and Soul," sharing his expertise and experience on what bass players bring to the band (on and off the stage), highlighting his personal journey and influences, giving some bass demonstrations, and exploring his process in finding the groove. Bring an instrument if you'd like to jam along!

Woodshed
Woodshed :: to practice a musical instrument assiduously and with a specific goal in mind. What do you do to maintain and balance your practice, personal, and professional lives? August 14th at The Hook, we'll be sharing in our tales and secrets from the woodshed. Learn new skills to keep the love and joy of music within you, explore ways to practice in a healthy and sustainable way, and build yourself up rather than tear yourself down.

Curiosity
Curiosity: a strange or unusual object or fact; a strong desire to know or learn something. Do you color outside the lines or explore new things that might make you uncomfortable in your musical or personal pursuits? Or do you tend to stay in your comfort zone? Join us on July 10th, 7-9pm, at Space Between to share your experiences in being curious, whether that be something that helped you grow and mature as a person or professional, or something that may have created some struggles and trouble. Either way, curiosity often helps us realize new boundaries and possibilities.

Support
Showing up for others and allowing space for others to support you. This is what Space Between is all about. Life is challenging and wearing, most definitely within the music industry, and no one should be expected to do it all alone. Come show some love for your fellow industry folks, and learn some ways to be present for those you care about. Join Space Between in June to explore ways that we can support ourselves and those around us, to create a healthier and more sustainable music community.

Backline
Help us welcome Backline, a 501(c)(3) non-profit that is at the forefront of the music industry mental health movement, and an instrumental supporter and sponsor of Space Between from our inception. Backline connects music industry professionals and their families with mental health and wellness resources. We will be joined virtually by Brad Cole, Backline Clinical Associate, who will be sharing about Backline's current services and resources, their free "Touring Manual," and answering any questions you all may have.

Mindfulness
Join us at Space Between, a free peer-to-peer community support group for music industry professionals. Monthly conversations on topics we can all relate to. April's focus will be on Mindfulness :: "Being aware of what you're sensing and feeling in the moment, without interpretation or judgment." Patience, trust, acceptance, and letting go.

Rest
Join us as we explore the concept of "Ma," "The power of the space in between," and the moment of quiet that many of us need within the hustle and bustle. Space Between's signature emblem, the quarter rest, is a symbol and reminder that sometimes we just need a break, a breathe, a pause, and a little rest. Not a whole rest, maybe just a quarter rest.

Space Between 2 Year Anniversary :: Songwriting with Will Effertz
Join us in celebrating 2 years of Space Between! Will Effertz, of TWINE and WE Collective, will be sharing about his personal songwriting process from start to finish. Will is also planning a live performance for those in attendance! Space Between is going Nonprofit, and just so you know, Will is going to be on the board! We couldn't be happier to have him along for this journey! Bring some questions, share about your songwriting process, and maybe bring along an instrument to participate in the fun! Please join us in celebration and song!

Stoked to have El Diablo Amps & Guitars joining Space Between in January 2024 for a pedal and effects workshop/Q&A! Need support or have questions about your gear or a new pedal, haven't quite figured out how it all works, or trying to master your pedal chain? Come nerd out with us and explore the distortions that we use on and off of the stage.
